Great Western Runners

For runners wishing to improve their fitness, speed and hopefully race times the GWR weekly coaching session is a great way to help you achieve these or any other running goals that you may have.

The sessions take place 7pm every Tuesday night at the Rugby Development Centre


Everyone is welcome regardless of age, fitness or ability!

Session Format

The sessions generally follow this format: 

1. Notices etc.
2. Warm-up jog
3. Drills
4. Interval sessions
5. Cool down jog
6. Stretches
The sessions will teach you vital skills with regard to warming up, running drills, stretching etc. The interval session part of the evening is normally a full 30 minutes of effort with appropriate recovery time.
  • The centre has ample parking.

  • There are showers, changing rooms and safe bag storage available.
  • Drinks and snacks are available from the centre bar

GWR currently has three UK Athletics qualified coaches. Each coach has under gone extensive training with UK Athletics and are qualified not only to run training sessions but also to provide help and advice on all aspects of running and training.

Whether or not you attend these sessions the coaches are available to all GWR members for help, training advice, schedules, etc.
